Getting yourself a custom skateboard deck just may be the best thing that you ever do. Whether you are
interested specifically in a flip skateboard deck or any other type, when you get the deck customized you know that you are getting everything just the way that you want it. You will probably only want to do this if you already have a bit of experience in skating however, because otherwise you are not going to be able to make the most of it.
You really have to be able to understand what goes into a board and what sort of details you need to take care of to really make the most of your custom skateboard deck.
BoardPusher
If you know that you want to go and get a custom skateboard deck, you are going to want to head to a place like BoardPusher. I need to ship my longboard which is approximately 44" long. I no longer have the box because my parents threw it away, so shipping prices are a lo more steep than I imagined. Apparently it’s going to cost $50 for UPS to ship ($26 if I can find a box). Are there any other options that may be cheaper? USPS? FedEx?
USPS or FedEx will be roughly the same as UPS. A few dollars plus or minus. Your local skate shop should have a box that will work. Just call them and ask them to save a longboard box for you.
I’m buying my first skateboard that I plan on riding for a long time. The terrain I plan on riding is sidewalks and parking lots mostly… My budget is $150 and my shoe size is 12 in mens.
Please name me the brand that works best.
Deck Brand / Size
Bearings
Grip Tape
Wheels
Trucks
I’m planning on cruising / olling and eventually do kick flips but I don’t want a long board or a really long skateboard lol.
Thanks.
I suggest these…
Deck brands – Almost, Baker, Habitat, Girl, Mystery, Santa Cruz and Zero are great. About $50 and above. But if you do decide to go cheaper, get Mini Logo, their are seriously good for their price,$30, as good as pro boards.
Size – For a shoe size 12, maybe try getting an 8" wide deck, or any wider would do. If you like the shape of the deck, the concave and stuff, buy it. Try some decks at a skate shop.
Bearings – Bones Reds, $15. Very good bearings, easy to maintain.
Griptape – Any would do, Jessup, Black Magic and MOB are great.
About $4 – $7.
Wheels – Wheels don’t make much difference, so blank shop wheels are good, they are around $15. For branded ones, which cost twice as much,
I suggest Spitfire, Ricta and Bones. But seriously don’t go too expensive on wheels.
Trucks – I like Venture and Independent. They last long, Independent lasts longer though and Venture turn smooth. Thunder trucks are great too and Krux are smooth while grinding. Get any of these and the exact same size of your deck or a little bit smaller. Maybe $30 – $40 a pair.
Additions : Any hardware would do. Riser pads reduce/prevent stress cracks on your deck, if you do want them though. Hardware $1-4, Riser Pads $2-$5.
The lowest price you can get is $95 and highest is a little over $150.
But the quality is the same, so just buy anything that you like!
Im thinking of setting up my own business in which a customer sends me a design like an image or text and I then imprint that onto a skateboard deck.
Well thats how my coursework goes anyway.
So in order for me to get good marks I need primary research data.
So could you please fill it out and help a poor 17 year old with his 6th form coursework =]

ok ive been skating for around two years and i can kickflip ollie nollie popshuv and 180 ollie how do i tre flip ive been trying for sooo long and not getting anywhere ive watched the lame videos on youtube about how to do it but they didnt help could any of you?
First, learn the basics, such as kickflips and pop shovits. Then when you think that you are read, then you can try the tre flip. You put your back foot at the end of the tail hanging off, and your front foot wherever it is comfortable. The farther up that you put your front foot the more control you have over it, but you should keep your foot farther back until you get better at them. The farther back your front foot is the faster it will flip. You are going to stay centered and pop and as you are popping start to lean back a little and scoop the board behind you. Don’t scoop it straight back, scoop it in more of a circular motion. When the board is almost 90 degrees, slide your front foot directly off of the board. You wait for the board to spin and catch it. If the board goes to far in front off you, then you are leaning too far back, and if it goes to far behind you, you are leaning to far forward. You will learn how much you have to scoop it, it will come to you. Well, I hope this helps you out with your tre flips and keep on skating!
