For those of you skateboarders… does the skateboard brand effect the strength of the decks they make? cause i asked my friend if my boyfriend liked flip skateboard decks, and he said maybe. last time he had one he snapped it in one day. Meaning what? Flip decks are crap? He said my boyfriend likes darkstar? any difference? The decks are 7.5s
just to add, he does big drops and rails.. any suggestions if not darkstar or flip?
Wondered the same myself, cause i seem to break a board a week (no lie). I asked the guy who manages the Endless Grind store in my neighborhood and he said that most boards are all made of the same cherry oak wood. He said that like everything its how its hit that could cause cracks that lead to breaks. Ive broken everything from Zero, Elements, ZOO York, Darkstar, etc… If you’re an avid skateboarder your going to break plenty of boards, just comes with skating. If you see someone who says they skate all the time but they have had the same board for months even a year , thats a clue he/she hardly ever skates or doesnt really do anything but roll around on it.
Flip Decks do suck by the way.

im looking for a good skateboard and i saw this deck, it saws its some new type of skateboard (p2 or pro 2) the item description says
"After several years of development, P2 (Pro-2) construction has been created as the next level in skateboard decks.
P2 technology includes an oval-shaped [aramid] fiber reinforcement panel, which enhances the natural performance and pop of its supporting seven, thin veneers of maple.
The oval shape is designed to spread stresses and loads throughout the entire deck, versus around only the areas closest to the trucks.
The P2 construction provides exceptional added resilience to the deck creating a “Spring Loaded Pop” effect. P2 decks are thinner and lighter than old fashioned 7-ply wood skateboards.
The Aramid fiber used to make P2 decks is expensive stuff, but “Spring Loaded Pop” is priceless!"
Yeah, I’ve heard great things about them from a lot of different people. I haven’t seen one negative comment or spoke to someone that didn’t like them. I’m planing on getting the Flip P2 Appleyard deck with some clear Jessup grip tape so i can see the top graphics too! definatly a step in the right direction by Flip.
get an element i think they have good pop and more durable

My DECA was my first ever board and it is cracked and shiz, and im thinking of getting just a new deck. What would be my best option, Plan B, Almost or Flip? These are the three decks im particularly interested in. I’ve heard that Flip are really good, that they are hard wood and have a sick pop. Im still not sure though. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated! thanks so much ![]()
My friend had a flip and he said that the wheels are really good but the decks aren’t. another friend of mine had an enjoi and said that that didn’t really work too good. Now i know a couple of people with plan b decks and they have the GREATEST boardlife AND pop. i would most definitely get a plan b they are wicked easy to use and there great for street skating
im looking for good pop, and pretty light, durability is important but im not looking for it to last longer than 4-6 months. im looking at alien workshop, speed demons, flip, zoo york, plan b, enjoi, blind and zero. i don’t like element. so any opinions on the best kind of deck are greatly appreciated
I have a Mystery, and its excellent, so Im guessing that zero is good.
