Width
One of the first aspects that you are going to have to take into consideration when it comes to buying skateboard decks is the width of the deck. If your balance is not so good and you are going to want to be performing tricks on the board, then you want to get a wider board so that you have more stability.
A lot of the top skaters have thinner boards because they are used to skating and have good balance. Especially if you are just getting started, sticking to a wider board is probably going to offer you the best results here.
Concave
You are also going to have to figure out whether you want to get a concave deck or not. The skateboard decks are usually offered with three different types of concave edges, and so you are going to have to decide on which is right for you. There are the mellow, medium and steep. This factor is really all about personal preference, and how you want to feel when you are on the board.
Again, even figuring out these sorts of things can be tricky if you have never bought a deck before because you are not sure what to look for since you are not used to riding on a skateboard.
Look
You want to love the look of your board, and this is the easiest issue to deal with when it comes to buying a deck, because there are no details that you have to be concerned with and instead you just want to make sure that you find a deck that you like the look of. There are endless styles and designs that you can choose from and so you can surely find one that you just love.

Its way too expensive to buy pro models all the time. I just want cheap blanks that I can either buy a bunch at a time, or just go for cheap. Any ideas? I’m located in the lower mainland area of BC.

They’re a great site, definitely not a scam. They sell really nice blanks, made in China or America (Maple 7 layers) and they last pretty long. If you buy in bulk, you also get a discount and they have cheap graphic boards, bearings and trucks too.
Definitely recommended 
you never see an unboxing where someone grabs the box right out of the UPS man’s hands, until now! i unbox my fresh crispy new 7 ply decks that i got from an undisclosed website. if anyone wants, i can do a review of them.

well i have a foundation 7.8 that i have recently snapped down a ten-er
and want to get another deck that has good graphics lots of pop and is light . can you guys help me out?

well dark star has a lot of armor light decks that’s 7 ply and has a lot of pop.
almost deck are kinda the same their a bit heavier but has double the pop and lasts for a while.
alien workshop has CRAZY decks they have pop their light weight and they look sick.
Id recommend either a alien workshop or a dark star but its up to u to decide.

Zero decks – best pop so far
Girl decks – i liked the concave
Tensor trucks – smooth, i feel more control of the board with them
Venture Trucks – who doesnt like em
Destructos – what i have right now and theyre pretty well rounded
Just dont get element decks, i snap them way too easy

I BUY ONLY BLANKS BUT WONDER WAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BETWEEN BLANKS AND PROS ARE…
some pro boards are made of different materials and have actual graphics but there also is no difference between walmarts and real boards. walmarts are 7 ply while pros are 6 ply but they have the same width and concave. blanks and pros are the same except cheaper and no graphic
